The Greater Toronto Area (called the GTA by local residents) is the largest metropolitan area in Canada and fifth largest in North America, after Mexico City, New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago. The GTA is centered around Toronto, but includes 4 other distinct regional municipalities.
In addition to being consistently ranked as one of the urban areas with the best quality of life in the world, the GTA is heralded as one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world. With a population of 5 million people -over 100 languages and dialects are spoken in the GTA and over one third of Toronto Residents speak a language other than English at home. The GTA is truly the world within a city.
Currently I.Net has chosen the lakeside village of Port Credit as the centre of its operations within this wonderfully diverse region. Located at the mouth of the Credit River in Mississauga; Port Credit boasts a vibrant marina and arts life. The community also has an array of shops, boutiques, restaurants and grocery stores all within walking distance and is conveniently only 11 miles west of downtown Toronto.
